For our activities in EUMETSAT, we are currently looking for two Spacecraft Controllers on a fixed term contract until April 2017. Main responsibilities Operate on a 247 shift basis all or part of the mission control system, which includes parts of the ground segment as well as the space segment Assist in configuring and testing the operational system to support the operations In case of ground or space segment anomaly take corrective action as necessary, applying the contingency emergency procedures approved for the mission to ensure spacecraft safety and the continuity of service provision to users Participate in other operationsrelated activities small system development, procedures development or maintenance etc. upon request of the Team Leader. Ideal candidate Requirements The candidates should have a solid background in a technical or electronic environment, to the level of Senior Technician. A formal qualification to ONC or HNC would be advantageous. Ex service personnel should have completed a service College apprenticeship in electronicstelecommunications, and possess a background in Avionics, Air Defence, Air Radar or Communications. Or the candidate should have a degree at least at BSc level in a related subject such as Aerospace Engineering, Telecommunications, Physics etc. Experience working with computer systems and PC literacy is required. Database knowledge would be useful. Candidates must be adaptable, selfdisciplined and able to work in a calm and correct manner under conditions of stress. The position requires working a shift rota candidates must be able to fit in well within a small operations team. Spacecraft Operations Engineer 1623128 Job Description We are looking for a Spacecraft Operations Engineer to support our client ESA at ESOC in the areas of System Engineering including Platform and FDIR and Instruments altimetry, optical in support to the Earth Observation missions, as a member of the Flight Control Teams FCT.
