As members of the Galileo Flight Control Team reporting to Airbus GSOps Operations Manager OM, the Spacecraft Controllers SPACON will undertake system operations tasks and duties to operate the Galileo spacecraft as required to maintain the high availability of the signals broadcast by the Galileo satellites. The role of SPACON is an onshift position, with a rota to provide 247 coverage of the operational position. The SPACON will Monitor the systems which indicate the health and status of the Galileo spacecraft and associated ground control elements. Execute defined procedures to control the Galileo spacecraft and associated ground control elements, in accordance with the scheduled operations plan, ensuring that safety criteria are respected at all times Support specific operations to control the Galileo spacecraft as instructed by the responsible Spacecraft Operations Engineer Identify anomalies on the spacecraft and ground system, and escalate accordingly Take corrective action as necessary, applying the approved contingency procedures Prepare operations reports for offline evaluation and analysis Work with the Engineering Support Team for ground segment corrections or improvements. Interface with other internal and external teams, in particular with the operations team active at the alternate Galileo Control Centre Please note that work locations are at the Galileo Control Centres in Oberpfaffenhofen, Germany or in Fucino, Italy.
