SES provides satellite operations expertise to the O3b constellation through a Service Level Agreement. The Power Thermal Engineer is responsible for the inorbit operations and performance monitoring of the Electrical Power and Thermal subsystems of the O3b satellite constellation. The position will support both the SES Engineering team in Luxembourg and the O3b operations team in Manassas USA. Responsibilities Provide Electrical Power and Thermal expertise to nominal and contingency operations of the O3b constellation Support spacecraft operations and configuration changes, including generating or reviewing Operational Task Orders, configuration validation and direct supervision over critical spacecraft commanding Develop andor validate nominal and contingency procedures and tools Provide oncall support, react to contingencies and cope with high stress situations for the Electrical Power and Thermal subsystem of the satellite constellation per established escalation procedures Proactively monitor the Electrical PowerThermal subsystem to identify degraded performance, anticipate scenarios and take appropriate action. Develop and maintain tools for evaluating and trending health to maximize satellite safety, availability and longevity, including PowerThermal budgets and fleet capacity predicts Provide support to new satellite procurement activities, inorbit testing, and start of service activities as required by O3b Directly interface with O3b in relation to the responsibilities of the subsystem, including insurance and other external requestsreporting Contribute to a continuous effort to more effectively and efficiently manage the satellite inorbit operations, including processes, procedures, monitoring, and Ground Control System improvements. Experience Qualifications A Masters Degree in Engineering, with a specialization that includes electricalelectronics or thermalmechanical engineering is mandatory Have at least 2 years of experience in satellite engineering and operations. Operational experience with LEO or MEO constellations would be considered an advantage Have strong analytical and problemsolving skills Have strong computer software skills with knowledge of at least one programming language. Key Purpose The Imager electronics team delivers high quality, high reliability imagers to our clients fleet of earth observation spacecraft. The role would be ideally suited to a mixed signal design engineer with experience of driving imaging sensors and looking for a career move. Responsibility for the delivery of Imager Electronic equipment. The role includes full design life cycle from the requirements capture stage through design, production and test to inorbit verification and commissioning of Imager Electronic systems. Key Tasks Mixed Signal, Digital Analogue circuit design. Schematic capture board level design. Circuit simulation where required. Test planning, test and verification. System Subsystem level interfacing and tradeoffs. Interface with internal and external customers. Provide support and advice to spacecraft operators. Management and delivery of imager electronics work packages. Qualifications Degree in Electronics Engineering or equivalent. Experience in the following Mixed signal board level design. Driving imaging sensors CCDs CMOS. Digital and analogue circuit design. Hands on design and fault finding during test. Knowledge and Skills Understanding of imaging sensors CCDs CMOS. Good VHDL knowledge. Selfmotivated and able to manage a package of work. Excellent interpersonal skills both written and oral communications ability to interface with customers and technical representatives. Good understanding of digital and analogue electronics. Creative problem solving. Ability to work simultaneously on a variety of projects and under pressure. Flexible adaptable to changing priorities. Good MS Office skills Word, Excel, PowerPoint particularly.

Tasks and Responsibilities This position may include, among others, the following tasks Operate on a 247 shift basis all or part of the mission control system, which may include parts of the ground segment as well as the space segment, as specified for each mission Depending on the mission assignment, during the prelaunch phase assist in configuring and testing the operational system to support the operations. The successful candidate may be required to develop methods or tools to assist in the execution of the operations Depending on the mission assignment, Onconsole involvement in Mission Readiness Tests, System Validation Tests, simulations and Launch and Early Orbits Phase operations authorised by the Spacecraft Operations Manager, following established rules and procedures In case of ground or space segment anomaly take corrective action as necessary, applying the contingencyemergency procedures approved for the mission to ensure spacecraft safety and the continuity of service provision to users Immediately inform the Spacecraft Operations Manager andor hisher official deputy when a major or critical anomaly is detected, in accordance with the established procedures Participate to other operationsrelated activities small system development, procedures development or maintenance etc upon request of the Team Leader Depending on the assignment, perform any of the abovementioned tasks either as a Shift SpaCon or as a Backup SpaCon, i.e. continuously training on more than one mission to be ready to replace any of the other Team Members at short notice, if need be. Requirements Applicants should have a solid technical background and a degree at least at BSc level MSc would be preferred in a related subject such as Aerospace Engineering, Telecommunications, Physics etc. The ideal candidate is a young graduate MSc in one of the above mentioned disciplines with very good academical career and a passion for satellite missions or space activities in general. Experience working with computer systems and PC literacy is required. DB knowledge would be useful. Candidates should be ordered, disciplined and have an efficient thinking mind as the appointed person should feel comfortable in a strictly proceduredriven working environment. Due to the operational nature of the job, candidates shall be able to work in a calm and correct manner under conditions of stress and in almost full autonomy e.g. during night shifts. As the successful candidate could be part of a small Ops Team working on a 247 shift rotation pattern, team spirit is also essential to adapt to the sometimes unavoidable shortterm changes to the shift plan resulting from sickness or other exceptional circumstance, with the purpose of avoiding any service disruption and ensuring the satellite health. You will lead and perform the customer furnished instrument CFI interface engineering and management in the ExoMARS Rover team in phase CD, including support of internal teams responsible to perform the instrument integration and related activities with relevant data planning constraints. As part of the systems engineering area of the Exomars Rover Vehicle project, the candidate will perform the following tasks Coordinate and lead specific technical areas of the project. Review documentation from different technical domains and provide system level comments and signoff. Visit suppliers to review technically and troubleshoot multidomain technical issues. Support the system interface management where required. Maintain the system level documentation Design Description and Design Definition File. Maintain the product tree and hardware matrix. Manage the system reviews with the customer data pack generation, management of RIDs and subsequent actions. We are looking for candidates with the following skills and experience Strong technical background in one or more of the following domains Spacecraft Electronics, Software or Thermal Engineering. Proven experience in Leading technical activities involving engineers from different technical domains. Proven experience as Project Manager or System Engineerengineering Manager for a full project lifecycle.
