Spacecraft Operations Engineer for Payload, TTC and Data Handling Subsystems mf Galileo

LSE Space is looking for an Engineer mf fulfilling the task of Spacecraft Operations Engineering for Payload, TTC and Data Handling Subsystems in the Galileo Operations Team for our customer GfR in Oberpfaffenhofen. The objective of the Spacecraft Operations Engineer is the preparation, validation and execution of operations related to the data handling, TTC and payload subsystems of the Galileo Satellites. The main tasks of the position will be Preparation of Flight Operations Procedures FOP Writing of procedures Adaptation of procedures to new databases and procedures delivered by industry Definition of validation scenarios FOP validation, testing and result reporting Preparation of and participation in SVTs and simulations Test and validation of operational items like CSIM, ASW, ODB, SCCF and MOIS Participation in and provision of training spacecraft subsystems, Ops tools, Ops concepts Anomaly reports handling writing, action processing, support of review boards Operations support Offline analysis of the subsystem performance Support of routine, special and contingency operations during PF Commissioning, IOT and routine phase inclusive provision of shift and oncall support Provision of oncall service for the assigned subsystems during routine phase Required qualifications and work experience A Master Degree in Aerospace Engineering or in an equivalent discipline Proven experience in SC operations Knowledge of the GALILEO project Willing to work oncall support Spacecraft subsystem knowledge, in particular good knowledge of Data Handling and TTC and Payload subsystems Experience with prelaunch activities and launch campaigns Additional skills required Systemminded and a team player Very good social skills Able to work in an interdisciplinary team Selfstarter, able to work independently with little or no supervision Fluent in English, both in speech and writing German language skills would be an asset Benefits A permanent employment contract. Experience and education o University Engineering Degree in Materials Science and significant practical experience in an aerospace or related industry o Strong experience in the RD area and technology development in the field of metallic materials and related manufacturing processes and a good knowledge of materials process technology with a good understanding of physics and chemistry o Knowledge of ProgrammeProject management and control technique, method and tools together with the capability to work independently and have confidence to deal directly with customers, in person or by telephone and to interface with ESA staff in high level positions o Demonstrated ability to analyse and summarise complex information, capability of identifying priority actions and handle high workload. Specific Competence Requirements o Several years of experience in project support activities including material physical and chemical laboratory investigations with particular emphasis on the task descriptions defined above. o Familiarity with relevant ECSS standards and general space product assurance requirements and processes.
