Job description For our customer, EUMETSAT, we are seeking an experienced Spacecraft Operations Engineer to provide support for the routine operations phase of EPS currently, operations of MetopA and MetopB operations preparation, commissioning and subsequent routine operations of MetopC operations preparation of EPSSG operations preparation and commissioning of Copernicus Sentinel3 system and operations preparation of Copernicus Sentinel6 The Operations Engineer be integrated into the Metop Spacecraft Operations Team, led by the LEO Spacecraft Operations Manager, within the Flight Operations Division of the Operations and User Services Department at EUMETSAT. Responsibilities As an Operations Engineer your tasks will typically include Support to the routine operations of Metop A, B and preparing for MetopC, comprising Provision of operational expertise to the Attitude and Orbit Control System in particular, with support to other platform subsystems andor payload instruments andor onboard software management, satellite simulator and ground segment operations interfaces Maintain the corresponding operations documentation and flight procedures, including the update and operational validation of procedures releases in a configuration controlled environment Perform trending and performance analysis on the corresponding subsystems and instruments, including definition and possibly prototyping of additional analysis checks where necessary Investigations into satellite anomalies. This is a fulltime position located at EUMETSATs premises in Darmstadt, Germany, with an initial contract duration of 2 years, and options to extend. Occasional travel within Europe may be necessary. Working time is normal working hours, plus the oncall engineer rota outside normal working hours. The start date is 1st December 2015. Qualifications Competencies Applicants shall have a university degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline.
