Spacecraft Operations Engineer Galileo Data Handling and TTC Operations Preparation Execution mf The Mission Galileo is Europes global navigation satellite system, which will provide a highly accurate global positioning service under civilian control. The Challenge We seek a qualified engineer to be part of the flight control team providing spacecraft operations engineering services for the Galileo constellation of navigation spacecraft. This is a fulltime position collocated at or near the premises of our customer in Oberpfaffenhofen, near Munich. The work starts as soon as possible. The tasks to be performed are those typical for a spacecraft operations engineer, but with a focus on data handling operations. Typical spacecraft operations engineering tasks include requirement definition, preparing and validating flight control procedures, validating ground systems used for operations, participating in spacecraft interface tests, and spacecraft performance analysis. Specific areas of responsibility and support related to this position are Generationconfiguration of flight operation procedures Definition of validation scenarios Flight operation procedure test and validation Preparations for participation in system validation tests and simulation campaigns Test and validation of operational items, e.g. the Galileo constellation simulator, airborne software, satellite constellation control facility, operational databases and the manufacturing and operations Information System MOIS Participation and provision of training in spacecraft subsystems, operational tools and operational concepts management of operational anomaly reports support for routine, special and contingency operations during PF commissioning, in orbit test and routine operations provision of oncall and shift operational services offline analysis of subsystem performance Your Qualifications This position requires a person with University degree or similar in engineering, physics or related subject. We require staff, wishing to join our team to work in a dynamic international environment for the following position Spacecraft Analyst service provision mf COSSOE201512 Tasks and Responsibilities The work will be performed at the European Space Operations Centre ESOC in Darmstadt, Germany. For the support to the Sentinels missions as a member of the Flight Control Teams FCT during the operational phases, including special operations i.e. LEOP, Commissioning, deorbiting. For the participation to testing campaigns SVT, inflight tests of the above mentioned missions. The Analyst position within the Sentinels missions includes the following responsibilities Implementation and maintenance of tools needed to manipulate the SCOS2000 Kernel S2K based databases, to create synthetic parameters and to support the data analysis tasks, as required. Maintenance of spacecraft operational databases, related tools, procedures and documentation under strict configuration control. Organisation, training and operational readiness check of the spacecraft controllers assigned to the mission, in cooperation with the other Sentinels Analysts. Collection of information data regarding the performance of the mission and provision of inputs for mission reports. Provision of spacecraft control support in case of special operations where the Spacecfrat Controller SPACONs complement assigned to the mission is not in a position to cover the needs. Support the generation of operational reports based on inputs received from other FCT members. Telemetry Data Consolidation and archiving. Support the FCT in the configuration, setup and operation of the Sentinels Network Data nterface Unit NDIU CORTEX and Lite. Training will be provided within the team, no previous experience required Support the FCT in the configuration, setup and operation of the Sentinels Mission Utility Support Tools MUST servers. Training will be provided within the team, no previous experience required Routine Mission plan generation supportchecking, as required. The Spacecraft Analyst is required to familiarise himherself with the missions heshe is supporting and in particular with the procedures and tools that are needed to perform the routine Spacecraft control operations. The Spacecraft Analyst will take part in test campaigns and simulations, and if necessary arrange for the participation of the spacecraft controllers. The Spacecraft Analyst will conduct regular operational readiness training and simulations with controllers proficiency training. Qualifications and Experience Applicants should have a technical education in appropriate subject, our bachelor degree in a relevant discipline. No previous experience is requested. The tasks to be performed require considerable initiative, flexibility and independence. Furthermore, candidates are required to have following skills Knowledge of satellite or ground operations. Experience in working in an operational environment. Good experience with office automation tools, including MSEXCEL and MSACCESS use of functions, queries, macros, reports, input forms, etc. . Programming experience, possibly with Visual Basic andor SQL. Service provision will be exclusively in English. Ability to organise, coordinate and train a Spacon team. Familiarity with operational training. Familiarity with operational simulators, ideally SimSat. Familiarity with satellite control systems, ideally SCOS2000.
